CX Series 1 bumpers have evolved significantly over the years, but also with each new finish. The very first CXs had no rubber protection, in keeping with the purity of the original design. The richest versions were then fitted with relatively thick beading around the entire bumper and under the front bumper, with two large, prominent crossbars. While perhaps less aesthetically pleasing, it was far more protective, especially when maneuvering and starting off in town... If you prefer a less expensive version that's closer to the very first CX, go for a Reflex, Athena or even Leader 1 Series ;).

See in its original language (French) : Les pare-chocs des CX Série 1 ont sensiblement évolués au fil des millésimes, mais aussi au gré des finitions. Les toutes premières CX n'avaient aucune protection en caoutchouc, respectant la pureté du dessin originel. Les versions les plus cossues furent ensuite équipées de bourrelets relativement épais, sur le pourtour entier du pare-choc, et sous le pare-choc avant, munis alors de deux grosses crosses assez proéminentes. Si peut-être moins esthétique, la chose avait le mérite d'être bien plus protectrice, notamment lors de manœuvres et démarrages en ville...
