Classic Parts Finder's review

These long-range lights seem to be a real rarity. It's a well-known fact that shortly after the DS was launched, a number of equipment manufacturers offered additional lights for the DS, and Citroën drew inspiration from them long afterwards when it launched the Pallas version in 1965, with small, aesthetically pleasing ball headlights, which were also used on the Porsche 911. The best-known of these lights, sometimes called 'shells', are made by Cibié and Marchal. While the Marchal formed a kind of cap with a nipple on the glass, the Cibié were flush-mounted, as shown here. However, this is a Marchal headlight... and the shell has a ridge at the top... Note that these are iodine headlights, and our guess is that they would have coexisted with iodine ball headlights around 1965-1967. If you know more, don't hesitate to share your knowledge with us ;).

See in its original language (French) : Ces feux longues portée semblent une véritable rareté.
