Si le véhicule issu de l'alliance entre Citroën et Peugeot est une réussite sur le plan technique, ce n'est pas le cas d'un point de vue esthétique. Ce restylage à moindre coût -réalisé par Heuliez- est une réussite et permet de relancer les ventes. Reste l'intérieur et son tableau de bord typiquement Citroën, qui ne fait toujours pas l'unanimité. Courant 1984, le bloc compteur est profondément modifié et devient largement plus conventionnel, avec des commodos classiques en guise de remplacement des 'satellites'. Le bloc compteur que vous voyez ici est particulièrement rare, puisqu'il comporte un compte-tours, que l'on trouve uniquement sur les versions les plus puissantes (hormis la GTI, qui arborait quant à elle un bloc tout autre très semblable aux Peugeot 205 GTI).
