Trunk star / Mercedes emblem for SL cabriolet or SLC coupé (107). Metal, rounded at the top to match the shape of the trunk. Very good condition. A few traces on the rear part, but not visible once mounted. Fixing screws included. Note: not suitable for SL versions produced from 1986 onwards, as the logo is made of plastic, and the fastening system is different. Ref. 1077580158

Remarquez ici la forme arrondie sur la partie haute de l'emblème, épousant ainsi parfaitement la forme de la malle arrière. On retrouve déjà cette particularité sur les Mercedes W113 Pagode. Comme mentionné dans l'annonce, le système de fixation employé fut modifié sur les dernières générations de R107, et la marque opta pour le plastique. On évoquera à l'époque la course à l'allègement, mais soyons réaliste, l'usage du plastique, moins onéreux, permis certainement de pencher dans la balance ;).
