It should be noted that the 205 GT and XS in phase 1 had the same tailgate as the 205 GTI. For purists, note that the windshield washer nozzle was located on the top of the tailgate for the very first vintages (1983). As a result, there was a 'hole' in the hatch to allow the water to drain out. From 1984 onwards, this nozzle was moved to the lower part, near the windscreen wiper.
