It's a well-known classic for any R5 Alpine owner (and I'd say even more of a 'Renault' classic from the early '80s), but speedometer needles age very badly, discoloring and twisting over time. The 'D' system is to replace them with matches ;), but you might as well opt for 3D-printed remanufactured needles, as proposed here. The latest-generation R5 TS and R5 TX have the same problem, but the color of the needles is different, more orange. In this case, simply repaint the needles with the appropriate color before assembly.

See in its original language (French) : C'est un classique bien connu de tout possesseur de R5 Alpine (et je dirais même plus un classique 'Renault' du début des années 80), mais les aiguilles de compteur vieillissent très mal, se décolorent, et se tordent avec le temps. Le système 'D' étant de les remplacer avec des allumettes ;), mais autant opter pour des aiguilles de refabrication réalisées en impression 3D, comme proposé ici.
