The 'D' system is to replace them with matches ;), but you might as well opt for 3D-printed remanufactured needles, as proposed here. The latest-generation R5 TS and R5 TX have the same problem, but the color of the needles is different, more orange. In this case, simply repaint the needles with the appropriate color before assembly.
