Elles on tendance à s'oxyder avec le temps, du fait notamment des infiltrations d'eau si le joint de pare-brise n'est plus étanche. On retrouve désormais cette pièce très facilement en refabrication, et parfois partiellement en inox. A noter que les embouts ronds des pièces de refabrication sont en général noir, et pas gris comme c'est le cas ici.
