En toute logique, les Renault 30 et Renault 20 les mieux équipées en étaient dotées dès leur sortie en 1975. A cette époque, l'équipement était encore très rare. Renault fut d'ailleurs assez novateur et resta pendant de nombreuses années l'un des seules à proposer la condamnation simultanée de toutes les portières via un bouton situé à l'intérieur du véhicule.
