See in its original language (French) : La Talbot Tagora, soyons clair, fut un véritable flop commercial. Conçue avant le rachat par Peugeot, et le projet étant bien avancé, il était bien trop tard pour la marque au lion de faire marche arrière, bien que l'initiative fut certainement bien tentante au sein de la direction, le modèle venant directement concurrencer les plates bandes des Peugeot 604 et 505. Si la ligne manque totalement d'originalité, la qualité et le confort sont au rendez-vous. Le positionnement de la marque (et son avenir) incertains n'auront pas contribué à sa pérennité, et en à peine 3 ans et un peu plus de 20'000 exemplaires, la boucle est bouclée. Si l'on compare avec la Citroën C6, produite bien des années plus tard et à un peu plus de 23'000 exemplaires sur 7 ans, l'échec est finalement relatif ;). Dans les cercles de collectionneurs avertis, c'est la version SX équipée du moteur V6 PRV qui fait office de 'graal'. Equipée d'un carburateur triple corps, il s'agissait de la plus puissante et de la plus rapide grande berline française de l'époque.
